Use case
IllustrativeShared inference for civic models in the Straits
A cooperative offers metered public-interest compute so NGOs do not surrender training data to a single cloud.
Selat Public Compute Cooperative is a fictional Malaysian experiment: members pool idle university GPUs for after-hours inference. Civic models for legal-aid chat and flood briefing run there under a published acceptable-use policy.
The cooperative logs energy use and refuses models that cannot state a data-retention period. It is included as an infrastructure-and-compute enabler rather than a sector application.
